I often read on CanadianInvestor about people trying to avoid Wealthsimple Trade's 1.5% conversion rate, which is admirable and smart. However, I also tend to read in these posts that buying US stocks/ETFs at Questrade is 'free', which is not true. So I just recently opened a tfsa account with quest trade and I’ve purchased some shares in USD and CAD stocks and I’m wondering why my cash is different from my buying power. Don't have a lot of info on this but just logged into my questrade account and got a notification saying they are now accepting instant deposit via Visa Debit, max of $3,500.00. I made a new Questrade profile today, filled all my info in. I have not opened an account. I decided at the last minute I want to use a different… Welcome to the official Questrade subreddit. Underneath that there is a light green button that says FINISH ACCOUNT OPENING. If you're invested in BMO mutual funds, then select the all in cash option. Questrade handles the transfer for you, they submit the paperwork to BMO. Wait a couple weeks until Questrade sends you an email that your account is funded and ready to trade. Guys, I am a active day trader using questrade. I love the platform, and as a Canadain Trader, it is the cheapest platform but also a high quality one. Ovbisouly our neighbours to the south have better platforms, commissions structure and so much more. But we need to come together to demand quality for Traders across Canada.
